Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. 1922-2007

A moment of silence for great man, an honorary Cornell Alum, a fascinating, worthwhile writer, a visionary, a philosopher, a humorist, a humanist, one of the definitive people of his era. A mover and shaker, a dreamer of dreams.

I wish I had read more of his writing when he was alive.

My homeschool teacher, Sally, told me this true story:

E. (her son) was flying home from a conference, and he was reading Cat's Cradle. Towards the end of the flight, when he finished the book, the man sitting next to him asked, "So, what did you think of it?"

E. said "Oh, it was wonderful...brilliant."

And the man said "Thank you."
